Michał Bola

Michał Bola received MA in psychology from the SWPS University (2010) and PhD from the University of Magdeburg (2015). He now leads three NCN-funded projects in the Laboratory of Brain Imaging of the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology. The central topic of his work is consciousness, including its neural mechanisms, the relation between perceptual consciousness and attention, and the abilities and limitations of unconscious perception. Recently he has become interested in psychedelics and their potential to contribute to understanding of the psychological and neural mechanisms of consciousness. For his past work he received fellowships from the Foundation for Polish Science and the Polish Ministry of Science and Education. During our conference, Dr Bola will give a talk searching for answer "Is naturalistic use of psychedelics related to emotional reactivity and self-consciousness?".
