Prof Magdalena Kozela is an epidemiologist, associate professor at Department of Epidemiology and Population Studies, Institute of Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences at the Jagiellonian University Medical College. Her research interests are focused on classic and new determinants of civilization diseases (in particular cardiovascular disease). She was granted with the opportunity to work and develop in the international HAPIEE project (Health Alcohol and Psychosocial factors In Eastern Europe) coordinated by University College London. She is also a Member of European Society of Cardiology and International Society For Clinical Biostatistics and author and co-author of scientific papers on psychosocial risk factors and their relationship with the health and ageing of the inhabitants of Central and Eastern Europe. During our conference, Prof Kozela will give a talk entitled "Psychosocial determinants of incidence and mortality from cardiovascular disease – Central European Perspective"
